G-24 Ancient Rome was largely a civilization capable of dominating water. They had built an enormous waterway to bring the water from the Çayır karstic cave to Tios in order to to supply the water requirement of the city of Tios – Tieion (today’s Filyos). The detectable length of this waterway is approximately 25 kilometers. Along this line, there are many ancient architectural and engineering works such as arches, cisterns and canals built for the supply of water. The most important of these is the aqueduct, which is located within the boundaries of Çayır village, in the Asar locality, built into the Küçük Cave Creek Valley and on the waterway.
